“Quisquiliae” 21st century Dadaism:
Art and Design for All Possible Worlds
Project Description
These works are also from my “Quisquiliae 21st century Dadaism: Art and Design for All Possible Worlds” project. For each I upcycled discarded objects to give them new meaning and address the problems of ocean pollution and the climate crisis. The wall sculpture is influenced by Wassily Kandinsky, and it is filled with visual rhythm and movement. I selected trash objects to show patterns, geometric shapes, and organic forms, and I positioned them so that viewers could see that the objects were connected to each other harmoniously. I also developed my idea for the piece from John Chamberlain, using spray paint to give the sculpture a more painting-like quality.
(Quisquiliae means “waste matter” in Latin)
