“GrafikManiak” (or Graphic Maniac) is a pseudonym of Sakarit (Tirakas) Gunkhan, an artist, designer, maximalist, and volunteer who works out of Bangkok, Thailand and Philadelphia, USA.  Entirely self-taught and now currently studying art and design in the US, Sakarit worked within the Thai garment industry and marketing firms for many years before co-founding the Conference of Birds art space in 2007, where he continues to work as a curator. At Conference of Birds he featured the work of local Thai artists, along with that of interantional artists from America, India, Cameroon, Sweden, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Iraq.

He also volunteers as a garment designer, translator, and webmaster for the Dignity Returns collective, Thailand’s oldest worker-managed fair trade factory, formed by former garment workers a decade ago. In assisting Dignity Returns, Sakarit enjoys the rare opportunity to use the skills and experience that he gained in the world of fashion and design to benefit all possible communities.
