It was so much fun to make this earthenware bowl. This is the experiment how to manipulate mishima, a technique of inlaying slip, underglaze.

Applying layers of color or colors under glazes or colored slips to leather hard pottery will make the earthenware looks not just unique but exquisite.

素晴らしい喜び

Mishima technique by inlaying slip, underglaze, or even contrasting clay into the main clay body of the pottery piece will make the earthenware looks expressionism.

But the attitude of faith is to let go, and become open to truth, whatever it might turn out to be.

Project Description

Polydeuces, a mishima-sgraffito-styled earthenware ceramic, and named after the Saturn’s moon. Making this bowl was very fun and challenging because to manipulate mishima and sgraffito technique might require years of experiences but after hours of doing this the fired bowl looks so charismatic.
