Quisquiliae Lumina: Description
These work is part of the “Quisquiliae 21st century Dadaism: Art and Design for All Possible Worlds” project. It is upcycled by using discarded objects in order to give them new meaning and address the problems of ocean pollution and the climate crisis. This piece, the trash objects were selected to show patterns, geometric shapes, and organic forms, and positioned them so that viewers could see that the objects were connected to each other harmoniously. It also developed by using idea for the piece from John Chamberlain, spray is used to paint in order to give the sculpture a more painting-like quality. The chandelier was influenced by Dadaism and jellyfish. Only few colors of bottles are used, mostly shades of green found in the “greenery yallery” style of the Aesthetic Movement and in Art Nouveau. The wire mesh presents organic forms and keeps the structure of the chandelier strong.
